patchwise:
1. one patch at a time

Patchwise Labs is a creative strategy firm promoting social innovations for health.

We were founded in 2016 with the goal of making health more available to people in their day-to-day lives as patients, consumers, and members of families and communities.

Over the years we’ve worked with startups, investors, and healthcare organizations of all types on a range of projects that explore how health and care ought to evolve.

Our guiding principle: Business strategy informed by a more holistic view of human health has the potential to help people live better lives and improve the bottom line.

There's really no reason to settle for the status quo.

Managing Partner

Since founding Patchwise Labs in 2016, I have made it my job to bring clarity to the frontiers of human health through original analysis and an independent perspective.

I am a Forbes contributor covering neurotech's impact on business and society. I also operate Neurotech Futures, a Substack read by the top founders, investors, and commercial leaders building the future of brain health.

For the past 20 years I’ve worked to advance progress at the intersection of technology and human health. I’ve advised Fortune 5 to pre-seed companies, and supported federal agencies or NGOs on national innovation programs.

As an entrepreneur for the last decade, my published market research reports on human-centered design, reimbursement and regulatory compliance for new tech, social innovation strategy, and funding landscapes have driven millions of dollars in private investments.

I currently advise public and private interests to bring next-gen neurotech into society responsibly. This means safely for people and loved ones, and sustainably for startups and their supporters disrupting the status quo.

I studied biology and public health at Johns Hopkins. As a family man and author of published fiction, I’m committed to building hope into the future every day.
